The Afternoon League started with controversy as the Emile Heskey’s had two players sent off in their match with Players Only. This left ref Glen Wilson having to abandon the game early and awarding Players Only an extra goal, to make score 10-5. AC Milincoln went into the day knowing the title was theirs, and managed a 1-1 draw with fourth placed The Brazil Nuts to put a point between themselves and McClarence Wonders. There were also wins for Just in Time FC, Flat Five Dons and Engine Shed Later.
In the Evening League, Dum Dum FC had the chance to take an unprecedented 100% record for the season, and duly delivered. A 10-1 win in their 10th game of the campaign, against Inter Lager FC, left them as the only team in Viva Futbol history to have a faultless campaign. Poksoccer Aces had secured second in the league and had a day off to put their feet up, while their namesakes Poksoccer Jokers took their first win of the campaign – by virtue of a default win. This was awarded with Flat 35 FC unable to field a team — an unusual way to win a relegation four pointer. The tightest midtable of all three leagues was headed by Ajax Treesdown, following their 8-1 victory over Real Topkapi, which leapfrogged them in the process.
Team Twenty Men III secured the Night League title with an excellent 10-6 win against Episode 2: Paddy Strikes Back, leaving all eyes on the battle for second place, between Hedgehogs United and the Greestone Lodgers. The Hedgehogs set the ball rolling with a 10-4 win against FC Shuba, while 40 minutes later Greestone were held to a credible 6-6 draw against fifth placed Pathetico Madrid. This ended up putting the Hedgehogs ahead by virtue of a better goal difference – which they only gained on the night. Honey Badgers held the honour of the only team in all divisions not to score a point after a 10-1 loss to The Uni Imps, and FC Hasselhoffenheim beat the Sleeping Giants 5-2 in a battle of eighth versus ninth.
